The First Movement Fundraiser

Dear friends, family, and soul community,

If my music has ever touched you —
if it’s brought even a few minutes of joy, peace, reflection, or connection —
I invite you to help me offer that same resonance to others who are seeking

personal transformation.

Last October, I decided to wind down my career as a full-time, touring piano entertainer. I’m grateful for those years — they helped me grow as a musician, and I hope they brought a lot of joy to audiences all over the world. But the grind of being on the road for ten months of the year ultimately presented too many challenges. Now, after nearly a decade in that world, my musical soul has answered a new calling.

Over the past nine months, I’ve focused all my work on building something that encompasses the lessons I've learned over the past 25 years of my life as a professional musician — something I wholeheartedly trust is needed at the intersection of music and health.

Live, adaptive music journeys created specifically for healing spaces, retreats, and therapeutic settings.

A bridge between traditional musical wisdom and modern therapeutic support.

A harmony of sound, presence, and nature.

This is Sonatura.

At a time when so much in our world feels divided, overwhelming, or uncertain — music remains one of the most universal forms of care.

Sonatura is now home to an emergent, codified framework — The Sonatura Method™ — designed to support licensed psychedelic-assisted therapy (PAT), recovery, somatic work, and integration through highly personalized live music –– created specifically for each, individual participant and their unique needs. It also includes Sonatura Community Care, a nonprofit initiative bringing this work to underserved communities and public spaces through both in-person programs and free virtual offerings like SonIT (Sonatura on Insight Timer), which reaches listeners worldwide each week.

This is my way of answering the call — offering moments of peace, presence, and connection through music that listens back.

I'm proud to say the work is already unfolding beautifully — through yoga studio partnerships, therapeutic programs, and online sessions, as well as participation at national and international symposiums on music and health. But to grow this into a sustainable offering for all who need it, I’m humbly asking for your support.

♡ Your contribution will help:

  • Fund Sonatura’s Community Care sessions, bringing live adaptive music to those who couldn’t otherwise access it — including individuals in recovery, LGBTQ+ wellness spaces, and trauma-informed treatment programs

  • Grow partnerships with healing centers and therapeutic practitioners who value and believe in the potential of live music as a co-facilitator of transformational experiences

  • Support Sonatura’s free global offerings like SonIT — a weekly interactive musical journey on Insight Timer, now reaching thousands worldwide

  • Cover outreach and mentorship of live music facilitator trainees to expand Sonatura’s reach and deepen its impact

  • Create deeply personalized, supportive musical experiences for people on their healing journeys

If you believe in this work as an offering from the heart, I would be so grateful for your support to help Sonatura segue from its prelude to its first movement.

Whether you’re able to contribute or simply share this page, thank you!

Every bit of support helps this dream take root — and helps others find their own healing through music.

With gratitude and resonance,
Matt
